Can I get semi-permanent lash extensions?
Just about anyone can receive the benefit of semi-permanent eyelash extensions, but theres certain conditions that can make them not suitable for you. If one or more of the following conditions applies to you, you may not be a good candidate for semi-permanent eyelash extensions:
Do You Rub Your Eyes Frequently?
If you suffer from seasonal allergies and/or sinuses just find you have a tendency to rub your eyes excessively. Although there are ways around this. Just be cautioned to this.
What if I have sensitive skin?
Yes its true semi-permanent eyelash extensions are not applied directly to the skin, allergic reactions are possible from the adhesive or under-eye pads or even the extensions itself. LA Muse Gallery uses mink extensions. The area around your eyes is easily irritated by skincare products or cosmetics. Clients with known allergies should alert the lash tech prior to beginning the procedure.
What if I have medical conditions?
A common cold, sinus infection or pink eye can cause irritation and/or eye secretions which can cause inadequate bonding of the adhesive and premature loss of your eyelash extensions. Extensions should not be applied on individuals who have recently completed or are undergoing chemotherapy, have severe alopecia or who suffer from trichotillomania, thyroid conditions ( due to medications), lasik surgery under four weeks after surgery, diabetic retinopathy (untreated). If you have an eye condition where the eye does not look healthy or have an adhesive or latex allergy, you are probably not a candidate for eyelash extensions. Consult with your ophthalmologist for a recommendation or stop in for a consultation.
What other conditions might affect eyelash growth?
You have absolutely NO natural lashes! Semi-permanent eyelash extensions are applied to your own natural lashes, you MUST have lashes in order to apply extensions. Your own lashes are unhealthy or you suffer from conditions that affect eyelash growth. Some of LA Muse Gallery clients are on lash growing programs and these products do not harm the extensions. The more lashes one has, the more extensions we can apply. The natural non medication lash growing liquids must be applied twice a day consistently for two months. The liquid must be precisely applied and evenly distributed as it is possible to grow hair in undesirable places or create patches of thicker lashes. These serums can also be used on brows as well.
